Enel Green Power

Enel Green Power (3SUN) chose SICEP for the construction of the precast concrete structure of the Giga Factory. Over 50,000 square metres in the heart of the industrial area of Catania.

The Enel Green Power project called “Tango” will bring the largest factory for the production of double-sided photovoltaic panels to Catania. The Giga Factory is located within the Enel Green Power Italia industrial site in Catania, as an expansion of the existing production plant (Module M6) built by Sicep, for ST Microelectronics, between 2002 and 2004.

In particular, the existing industrial plant includes, in the northern part of the lot, various office buildings, for industrial production activities, a power plant and production of chilled water and other buildings and accessory systems. In the southern part of the plot of land, Sicep built the New Building, which has a usable area of approximately 50,000 square metres.

The prefabricated building made by SICEP consists of four bodies (A-B-C-D) joined together having a structural mesh of (approximately) 10.00×20.00 m formed by 90×90 cm columns with a height of (approximately) 7.00 m.

All the bodies are made with the Ondal 70 system with interposed areas with Vigor 70 floor, to be used as a parking space.
